DesignIntelligence<\/em> is considered by the design industry the foremost source of rankings for design programs.\u00a0 The report is compiled annually by the Design Futures Council, whose research ranks undergraduate and graduate programs from the perspective of professional practice leaders with direct experience hiring and supervising the performance of recent architecture and design graduates.<\/p>\n \u201cA ranking based on real-world perceptions of our graduates in the workplace tells us we are doing the right things,\u201d said Scott Poole, dean of the UT College of Architecture and Design.\u00a0 \u201cOur faculty provide innovative education to ensure our graduates meet their futures well prepared to make professional contributions to society, and our alumni give their time and resources to support our young designers.\u00a0 As the college celebrates its 50th<\/sup> year, this is a harbinger of more success ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n This marks the second time the college has been ranked in the DesignIntelligence<\/em> report.\u00a0 In 2011, the college was ranked No. 20 for preparing students for professional practice.<\/p>\n Faculty from the College of Architecture and Design have been recognized by Design Futures Council for four of the past five years.\u00a0 In addition to Rose, Ryann Aoukar, Assoc. \n<\/a> <\/a>The College of Architecture and Design\u2019s School of Architecture is one of the top schools in the nation that is preparing students for a future and designing a sustainable future, according to Design Futures Council<\/a>\u2019s 2016 DesignIntelligence<\/a><\/em> annual report.\u00a0In the organizations\u2019 report of the Top 35 architecture programs, the school was ranked No. 13 of public institutions (No. 27 overall).<\/p>\n
<\/figure><\/a>Additionally, the Design Futures Council named James Rose, Adjunct Asst. Professor, one of the Top 25 Most Admired Educators for 2016.\u00a0 In the DesignIntelligence<\/a><\/em> report, he was noted for his focus on \u201cemerging technologies and design-build [and for] advancing the creation of net-zero buildings, including collaboration with the Governor\u2019s Chair for Energy + Urbanism\u2026.\u201d\u00a0 Rose has led net-zero projects at the college for the past 10 years, including the most recent collaborative success with AMIE (Additive Manufacturing and Integrated Energy), a system involving a 3D-printed structure and vehicle that together produce and share energy.<\/p>\n
