Our robust lecture series presents dozens of globally renowned lecturers each year to challenge our thinking about design and our role in it.

Our acclaimed lecture series started in 1974 and is funded by the Robert B. Church III Memorial Lecture Fund. This extraordinary and generous fund allows us to bring high-level architects and designers to our community to lecture and often exhibit. To date, hundreds of experts have visited with students, faculty, alumni and others in the community. These lectures are usually held at 5:30 p.m. in Rm. 109/McCarty Auditorium.

Since the mid 1990s, General Shale has generously supported lectures, allowing us to bring Pritzker Prize-winners and stand-out design pioneers to the college in a community-wide annual lecture. These lectures are held in downtown ¿ì»îÊÓƵ or on UT campus.

The Governor’s Chair Lecture Series featured nationally recognized experts in urban design. The lecturers were leaders at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, one of the three partners in our successful Governor’s Chair for Energy + Urbanism.

The School of Architecture‘s Dialogues series brings engaging professionals to our college, who often spend one-on-one time with student groups.

Governor’s Chair Lectures
