October 19, 2017 Watershed Symposium Features Tennessee River Studio Students, Faculty

The 6th Annual Watershed Symposium brought together local and regional agency and industry experts, educators and students to discuss challenges to the Tennessee River Watershed and featured a charrette led by students and faculty from our Tennessee River Studio.

Hosted by UT鈥檚 Watershed Faculty Consortium, the symposium took place on Sept. 26 at the UT Institute of Agriculture. , who leads the School of Landscape Architecture Governor鈥檚 Chair Tennessee River Studio, along with his students presented information about their research and led a community charrette to envision the future of the Tennessee River, its watershed and the 快活视频 riverfront.

Through several interactive activities, students led symposium guests through discussion about funding for waterfront projects, prioritizing needs for the watershed and understanding the impact of the river on the economy and ecology in the region.

Keynote speaker was Pippa Brashear, director of Planning and Resilience, in New York. Workshop topics included water quality testing, watershed delineation, geographic information systems, stream form and function and more.

The is a group of more than 50 faculty and staff from many departments throughout the university, who oversee and prioritize research, projects and curriculum.
