MLA, MSLA, MALA
We offer a two-year post-professional MLA for students with prior professional degrees in landscape architecture and a two-year non-professional MSLA/MALA for students interested in careers that would benefit from knowledge of landscape architectural design concepts, design thinking skills and related fields such as ecosystem management or sustainable development.

Our post-professional MLA is for students interested in development of skills or who want to develop a particular area of research. This track may also be of interest to professionals who are interested in a mid-career retooling of their skill set with new digital practices, contemporary theoretical paradigms, new material and tectonic strategies and updated ecological models and tactics.

Our non-professional MSLA/MALA is for students who want to develop greater knowledge and understanding of landscape-related topics and requires the successful completion of a robust thesis project. This degree will not prepare prepare students for licensure.

Studio + Beyond

Beyond the award-winning Art + Architecture building, with four floors of studios and lecture and review spaces, and the college's innovative Fab Lab, ��Ƶ and the state of Tennessee serve as our laboratory. They offer opportunities to explore regionally relevant approaches to sustainable civic, urban and landscape design plus stewardship across a spectrum of urban, suburban, rural, restored, preserved and managed resource landscapes.

Requirements Who should apply

We accept applications year-round. Review of applications is rolling, but international applicants must have materials submitted by February 1. The application deadline for domestic students will remain open until July 15.
