May 2, 2018 Students and Faculty Honored with Chancellor鈥檚 Awards; Dunn Named Top Researcher

UT Chancellor Beverly Davenport celebrated the achievements of faculty and students across UT 快活视频, including many in our college, during the Chancellor鈥檚 Honors Banquet on April 17.聽 In particular, Dillon Dunn, a fifth-year Architecture student, was lauded with many awards:

  • Undergraduate Researcher of the Year
  • Chancellor鈥檚 Citation for Top Collegiate Scholar
  • Chancellor鈥檚 Citation for Academic Achievement
  • Chancellor鈥檚 Citation for Extraordinary Professional Promise

The Undergraduate Researcher of the Year award honors one junior or senior who has demonstrated excellence in undergraduate research through independent inquiry, classes and student employment.聽 Dunn鈥檚 passion for research into European and Asian architecture and its interaction with religion and culture was explored through the 2017-2018 Aydelott Travel Award.聽 .

Joining Dunn as Academic Achievement and Extraordinary Professional Promise award recipients are these stellar students:

  • Academic Achievement:聽 Allison Bosarge (Interior Architecture), Susan Stewart (Interior Architecture), Graham Taylor (Architecture) and Mustapha Williams (Architecture)
  • Extraordinary Professional Promise:聽 Lauren Buntemeyer (Graduate Architecture), Rachel Hunt (Interior Architecture) and Danny Rose (Landscape Architecture)

Additionally, Lauren Higdon was named an Outstanding Scholar Athlete.聽 Higdon is a .

The Excellence in Academic Outreach award honors faculty who exemplify UT鈥檚 land-grant mission by using intellectual capital to benefit the citizens of Tennessee.聽 Collett鈥檚 integrated scholarship and leadership in bringing to light issues with fresh water in the Southeast were included in his accolades.

The Excellence in Teaching award is bestowed by the Office of the Chancellor and the Teaching Council of the Faculty Senate to honor outstanding work in the classroom.聽 Ambroziak was lauded for his passion and inspirational teaching using unconventional methods for helping students analyze architecture and think critically.
